"MINOTAURA"
Ana Barros (Germany/Chile) and Juan Pablo Cacciuttolo (Chile)
Minotaura is a sound performance by Ana Barros and Juan Pablo Cacciuttolo. The head device, which completely blocks the performer's view, is microphoned, as are all the elements of the performance. Throughout the performance, a sonority of atmospheric weight is built up. A relationship mediated by cables and sounds between the two artists.
On high heels, without sight and served on a table, the performer walks through a labyrinth that is both inside and outside.
"The bitch, the cow with the toad, the tigress, the she-wolf, the hairy fox, the lioness, the snake embody the minataura on display, half animal, half human, sexual object, Ariadne trophy, abandoned to the labyrinth, trapped in paradigms, essentially abject monster, charged with generational fear of being raped. Me, you, us, you, them, them.
The minataura, takes over that ‘masculinity’ associated with the bull, to dynamite the separation of the genders, to sensualise the androgynous body. Guilty of being an indecipherable tunnel, she sacrifices herself in a labyrinth with no way out to thwart this "hero" Theseus, who will live under the weight of a dirty conscience for the crimes he has committed."
